Confirmation hearings are under way in the European Parliament for the new team of Commissioners nominated last year. Over the next few weeks, European law-makers will have the chance to question the nominees about their qualifications and expertise for their assigned post. It's a bit like a job interview - and, the candidates can actually fail. At the end of the hearings, all the commissioners have to be approved by the parliament.
