Customs officials at the regional airport of Graz said they had made the "strangest find of the past year" when inspectors found intestines in two plastics containers being carried by the woman.

The Moroccan woman explained she wanted to test her late husband's intestines to determine whether he had been poisoned, local newspaper "Kleine Zeitung" reported. The 26-year-old man had died in a Moroccan hospital.

The finance ministry, which oversees customs, confirmed the odd discovery.

A police spokesperson said they had not been asked to conduct an investigation, saying it would not be "relevant."
