Larrazabal wins in Munich

Pablo Larrazabal has won the BMW International Open in Munich. A superb seven-under round of 65 on the final day secured the Spaniard a 17-under par score for the tournament. England's James Morrison took the lead into the final day's play at the Eichenreid golf club, but could maintain his hot streak. He finished with a five-over par round of 77 which left him at 11-under.

At the start of Sunday Larrazabal was 11-under, five shots behind Morrison. But the 32-year-old showed his form, beating par at each of the first three holes.It was the start of a stunning performance.

Six birdies and no bogeys sent Larrazabal to the top of the leader board, whilst Morrison dropped off the pace. It Larrazabal's second career BMW International Open and fourth European tour title.The Spaniard's closest challengers were Englishman Chris Paisley and the highest ranked player at the tournament, Henrik Stenson of Sweden.

Stenson carded the joint-best round of the day, a seven-under-par 65, which left him just a stroke behind Larrazabal on the final leader board. Paisley ended the day with a par on the eighteenth hole to finish on 15-under.

"Every title is special to me, but this place, there's just something that suits me," Larrazabal said after clinching the title. "From the tees to the greens, I just love this place."

In winning Germany's only European tour event, Larrazabal takes home the winner's share of event's highest-ever prize pot of 2 million euros ($2.24 million).
