Leipzig win in Dortmund thriller

90+5' FULL TIME! Leipzig win 3-2 in Dortmund. Whistles ring out. 

90+2' How did Dortmund miss, twice? Catastophic error from Leipzig defender Marcel Halstenberg releases BVB, Aubameyang's shot parried, and then Yarmolenko volleys the rebound over an open goal.  

90' Five minutes of stoppage time. It's felt like a little more to us, but maybe that was just the tension.

84' Yarmolenko with a header from the ensuing free kick. On target, but held.

83' Dortmund still pushing. Demme's booked for putting the brakes on Pulisic.

79' Almost something from nothing for Aubameyang, as a long free kick's lofted in. He's shadowed well by a marker, though. 

75' More Dortmund chances. Yarmolenko did so well to keep the ball alive in the box, fed Castro, shot in easy reach for Oblak.

62' Penalty VAR! For an knock on Aubameyang as he was running, but meters away from the ball. There was contact, but you can't help wondering what the call might have been without the scenes 10 minutes ago.

56' RED CARD. Now it's 10 against 10. Second booking for Stefan Ilsanker. He only picked up his yellow two minutes ago.

49' GOAL! Dortmund 1-3 RB LEIPZIG. Penalty was given. Sokratis is off. Jean-Kevin Augustin slots it into the bottom corner. That might well be game over.

HT analysis: Visitors Leipzig have probably had the better of this one, so far. They're playing with extreme intensity, especially without the ball, and exploiting the gaps left by Peter Bosz's own adventurous playing style. Left-winger Bruma has been particularly lively. However, Dortmund look dangerous too; were Aubameyang at his sharpest, he could have had a first-half hat trick.

45+1' Just the one minute of stoppage time. The players could surely use a drink and a breather after this all-action first period. 

41' Scenes in the Leipzig box. Several chances for Dortmund to finish it off, but last-gasp Leipzig blocking keeps the shots at bay.

40' Shot Dortmund. Lovely interplay between Yarmolenko and Götze, the Ukrainian's shot was too high.

33' Frenetic hardly begins to describe this. Real end-to-end stuff, both sides are finding frankly far too much space — especially on the flanks — in transition. 

26' GOAL! Borussia Dortmund 1-2 RB LEIPZIG (Yussuf Poulsen).  That assist from Bruma was worth a goal. Great run down the flank, just kept the ball in play, then nutmegged keeper Bürki with his cross, doing all the hard work himself. Sokratis was the first to touch the ball (it might even be an OG), but it looked like Poulsen got another touch afterwards.

24' Gorgeous through ball from Götze almost releases Aubameyang. Dortmund's hit man could get it out from under his feet.

21' Sokratis with a subtle but unnecessary shove on Jean-Kevin Augustin in the box. All credit to the Leipzig lad, who fell spectacularly but didn't really appeal. Sokratis indicated he thought it was play-acting. But not sure it was a wise move to take the risk as the ball was running harmlessly out of play.  

13' Aubameyang could have made it two there, turning the last man this way and that. But he wanted the shot on his right foot, by which point the moment was gone. 

10' GOAL! Borussia Dortmund 1-1 RB LEIPZIG (Marcel Sabitzer). A deep cross gets headed back into the danger zone and Sabitzer beats Dortmund keeper Bürki to the second ball. This one's looking explosive already, if a bit scrappy as well.

4' GOAL! BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-0 RB Leipzig (Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang). Nasty, nasty error from Ilsanker, who let Aubameyang pick his pocket. You know how this story ends. The Gabonese striker broke clear and finished clinically. Leipzig had started brightly, only to concede out of nowhere.

1' Dortmund's first shot rattled in within six seconds. That would have been some start. Maximilian Philipp's effort was blocked.

BAYERN MUNICH 5-0 Freiburg (Joshua Kimmich). Kimmich turns on the style as the Bavarians run rampant, back-heeling (in fact it was more of a drag-back with the sole of his foot) a cross into the back of the net. Robert Lewandowski could have pinched it, but watched it into the net. More selfless than one might expect from a hunter of the Bundesliga top scorer's trophy, the Torjägerkanone. 

90+3' GOAL! Mainz 3-2 HAMBURG (Sejad Salihovic, pen). Just a consolation?

89' GOAL! Hoffenheim 2-2 AUGSBURG (Kevin Vogt OG). Hoffenheim's late lead didn't last long. Vogt redirects a cross past his own keeper. Augsburg back on track for what would be an excellent point. 

90' GOAL! Hannover 1-2 FRANKFURT (Ante Rebic). Sizzling volley from Rebic. He blasted it into the ground, but it had so much power that it didn't take the sting out of the shot. Rebic had one disallowed earlier, as well. 

86' GOAL! HOFFENHEIM 2-1 Augsburg (Mark Uth). Boosh! Mark Uth with a real beauty. First-time left-footer, curled nonchalantly into the top corner. Marwin Hitz didn't have a cat in hell's chance.

79' GOAL! Hertha Berlin 0-2 SCHALKE (Guido Burgstaller). Hertha give the ball away in a dangerous area and Schalke pounce. Burgstaller rounded Jarstein and side-footed home. It took a while against 10 men, but it looks like Schalke have secured the Auswärtssieg, away win, as their traveling fans were just chanting.

75' GOAL! Hoffenheim 1-1 AUGSBURG (Michael Gregoritsch). Hoffenheim might rue their missed chances. Austrian Gregoritsch shows no such wastefulness with a tidy finish. 

76' GOAL! BAYERN MUNICH 4-0 Freiburg (Robert Lewandowski). It' turning into a walk in the park on Heynckes' return.

73' Kramaric with another chance for Nagelsmann's side, but his free kick doesn't dip in time. Just over the bar.

67' Hoffenheim are pushing the throttle against Augsburg now. Kramaric with a free header at the back post but he couldn't keep it down. 

63' GOAL! BAYERN MUNICH 3-0 Freiburg (Thiago). The VAR pallava didn't matter in the end. Freiburg couldn't clear the corner properly and Thiago was afforded far too much space on the edge of the area. Gorgeous right-footed finish into the bottom corner.

62' NO PENALTY after all. The ref's decided no handball, and given a corner.

61' Penalty in Munich, for Munich. Handball in the box to block a Joshua Kimmich cross. Debatable if it took place inside the area or not. VAR verifying... The second example already this weekend where even the video evidence doesn't seem conclusive. 

58' GOAL MAINZ 3-1 Hamburg (Danny Latza). Put that one down as a goalkeeping error from HSV's Christian Mathenia, formerly of Mainz. Latza's left-footed shot from the edge of the box was neither powerful nor well placed. Somehow it wriggled through Mathenia's gloves, though.

54' GOAL! Hertha Berlin 0-1 SCHALKE (Leon Goretzka, pen). Goretzka's heart must have been in his mouth there. Goalie Rune Jarstein guessed right and got both fists to that spot kick, but could only redirect it into the top corner. 

53' PENALTY in Berlin. It's for Schalke. Harit was brought down in the box by Darida. Replays seem a clear-cut affair. 

52' GOAL! HOFFENHEIM 1-0 Augsburg (Benjamin Hübner). Both Hübner and Wagner were looking for that header, but unusually, Hoffenheim's front man did not leap highest. A bit scrappy, perhaps, but they all count. Augsburg had been holding their own well prior to conceding.

51' GOAL! MAINZ 2-1 Hamburg (Stefan Bell). Mainz regain the lead from a Maxim corner, nodded on at the near post, and Bell's all alone at the far post to head into an empty net. 

49' Eintracht Frankfurt start the second half brightly, forcing captain Philipp Tschauner into a sharp early save. The score's one apiece.

44' Red card for Hertha Berlin's Genki Haraguchi. Hard to argue. He led with his studs and arrived late. Only the one foot, but still... Guests Schalke, who could really use the odd favor, have no excuses now.

42' GOAL! BAYERN MUNICH 2-0 Freiburg (Kingsley Coman). Normal service resumed on Säbener Straße. Robben shoots, it's only parried, Coman with a looping diving header to finish the job. It would take a brave soul to be on Freiburg salvaging anything now.

35' GOAL! HANNOVER 1-1 Frankfurt (Salif Sane). The Bundesliga returnees are back in the game. Good corner from Pirmin Schwegler and an even better header from the big man. All square again. Only Bayern lead, in any of the games.

29' Color coordination from Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann, sporting a multi-tone blue shirt. Hard to say if it compliments, or clashes with Hoffenheim's own gradated blue jerseys. (If you're wondering, yes, it's been rather quiet these past few minutes.)

20' A slight reprieve around the grounds, as we dawdle towards the half-way mark in the first halves. Bayern and Frankfurt lead, the other four games are still all square.

13' Cameras cut back to the Bayern match after a flurry of goals, to show Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent denied one-on-one by Sven Ulreich. That would have been some way to announce his arrival. 

10' GOAL! Hannover 0-1 FRANKFURT (Sebastian Haller). They're falling thick and fast, a class lobbed finish from Haller, played through by Marius Wolf.

9' GOAL! Mainz 1-1 HAMBURG (Wallace). The Brazilian holding midfielder gets forward to meet a back-post cross and pull HSV level almost immediately. 

7' GOAL! BAYERN MUNICH 1-0 Freiburg (OG Julian Schuster). Heynckes' first goal for Bayern comes thanks to some woeful work from Freiburg, conceding possession needlessly in their own half. Schuster was unlucky, prodding home as he tried to stop Thomas Müller as the last man. 

3' GOAL! MAINZ 1-0 Hamburg (Alexandru Maxim). Romanian Maxim puts Hamburg under pressure right from the off, meeting a cross from the right and finding the bottom corner. 

KICK OFF around the grounds! 

— Players in the tunnel at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Camera cuts to a pensive Christian Streich, who then exchanges a hug with the man of the hour, his opposite number, Jupp Heynckes.

— Martin Harnik will hope to continue his hot streak at home against Eintracht Frankfurt, while Kevin-Prince Boateng starts behind Haller and Rebic for Eintracht.

— Hoffenheim will be hoping for three points, but face robust opposition in Augsburg. Youngster Denis Geiger starts once more, Sandro Wagner's playing up top, with Mark Uth and Andrey Kramaric in support. 

— Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent has a baptism of fire this afternoon. He'll make his first start for Freiburg in midfield. Christian Streich described the youngster earlier in the season as a "raw diamond." But that might not suffice against the Bavarians. 

— Welcome to the Saturday afternoon fixtures. The pick of the games doesn't come until later in the evening, when RB Leipzig visit Dortmund, but there's plenty to occupy us before that.
