Bundesliga Matchday 14 in Pictures
It was goals galore on Saturday as the Bundesliga's main-event took place. After a dull Friday night, Hoffenheim, Borussia Mönchengladbach and the Nord-Derby stole the show. Here are the best pictures from the matchday.
Two goals for Auba, three points for BVB
No Mats Hummels, but no problem for Borussia Dortmund. A 4-1 victory at home against Stuttgart came with the club captain watching on from the bench. The turning point in the game came after Stuttgart's goal. Dortmund wrestled back control and went on to win. Gonzalo Castro and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were the top performers, the latter now has 17 league goals - his highest ever tally.
No goals, no winner in Augsburg
Augsburg were better in the first half, Wolfsburg in the second, but neither came out on top and perhaps deservedly so. Dante picked up a second yellow late on to leave Wolfsburg with just 10 men, but Markus Weinzierl will probably be more frustrated his team didn't get a penalty in the first half.
Spoils shared in Leverkusen
Both Leverkusen and Schalke came into the game in disappointing form, and a 1-1 draw did little to aid their respective troubles. An unwitting equaliser off Sascha Riether's face six minutes from time left Schalke perhaps the more aggrieved of the two teams, but Leverkusen had plenty of chances to win the game.
Hamburg win the Derby
It was Derby-Day in Bremen, Werder hosting north-German rivals Hamburg for the Nord-Derby. Ivo Ilicevic was the hero of the day for the travelling HSV fans, as he opened the scoring before assisting another goal later on. Michael Gregoritsch also scored for the away side, with Anthony Ujah adding a single goal for struggling Werder. It's Hamburg's first away Derby win since 2009.
Six-goal thriller in Sinsheim
Fabian Johnson continued where he left off against Sevilla during the week, adding a brace against Hoffenheim to earn a dramatic late point. His first gave the visitors an early lead, before the Bundesliga's bottom team turned the game on its head to lead 3-1 after 47 minutes. Josip Drmic's first of the season gave the Foals hope before Johnson scored with three minutes to play to snatch a point.
Slow and steady for Bayern
It was a quiet day at work for Bayern Munich, who beat high-flying Hertha Berlin 2-0 at the Allianz Arena. The match in Munich was the latest to see a goal, as it took 34 minutes for the deadlock to be broken. Thomas Müller's 13th of the season equals his career best for a Bundesliga season. Kingsley Coman added the second before half-time in what was a simple win for Pep Guardiola's side.
Hannover crush Ingolstadt
Having conceded only three goals in seven away fixtures, the bubble finally burst on Ingolstadt's impressive away defensive stand, as Hannover smashed four past the Bundesliga newboys. Marcelo, Leon Andreasen, Kenan Karaman and Uffe Bech were on the score-sheet, giving Hannover four goals in the Bundesliga for the first time since August 2013.
Mainz hold on against Frankfurt
It got nervous towards the end, but Mainz held on to beat Eintracht Frankfurt. The reds opened the scoring through Yoshinori Muto in the first-half, before Alex Meier was given his first ever red card after picking up two yellow cards. Yunus Malli took immediate advantage to double the lead. Haris Seferovic gave hope with a goal in the second-half, but it was too little too late for the Eagles.
A dull affair in Darmstadt
There was little to shout about in Darmstadt when Peter Stöger's Cologne side came to town on Friday night. The goalless draw leaves both sides comfortably placed in the middle of the table, but concerns are beginning to circle around the Bundesliga's latest crush in Darmstadt. No win in four matches has seen them lose ground.
