Bundesliga Matchday 5 - In pictures
Sackings, sendings off and a sackful of goals. Matchday 5 in the Bundesliga had it all. Here's the best of the weekend's pictures.
Labbadia pays the price
Hamburg head coach Bruno Labbadia was a man under immense pressure going in to his side's clash with Bayern Munich on Saturday. His players responded well, keeping the champions at bay until the dying minutes of the game. But a 1-0 loss didn't prove enough to save Labbadia, who was sacked on Sunday morning after a winless start to the season.
Kimmich leaves it late
It was Joshua Kimmich who hammered the final nail in Labbadia's coffin. The young German international finished a sweeping team move in the 89th minute to preserve Bayern's 100 percent Bundesliga record this season. The strike was Kimmich's fourth goal for the Bavarians this term.
Nouri gets Bremen going
The other club to have changed coach this season is Werder Bremen. The Green and Whites moved on from the Viktor Skripnik era with their first points of the season on Saturday night. Interim coach Alexander Nouri embraced his players after a last gasp winner from Theodor Gebre Selassie sealed a 2-1 home win over Wolfsburg.
Schalke slump to fifth straight loss
Schalke's latest new era is going from bad to worse. The Royal Blues crumbled after taking an early lead. Lukas Rupp was left in acres of space to score the winner just before the break and leave Schalke boss Markus Weinzierl searching for some answers.
Cologne and Leipzig content with intense draw
It was an atmospheric encounter as Cologne welcomed their controversial opposition on Sunday. Despite their ringing ears, Leipzig were never flustered and took an early lead through Oliver Burke on his full club debut. The Billy Goats levelled things up before half-time through Yuya Osako and the match finished 1-1. Both clubs are still unbeaten this season.
Frankfurt and Hertha share six
Two of the Bundesliga's overachievers served up a 3-3 thriller in Frankfurt on Saturday. The teams took turns to hold the lead before Michael Hector's injury time header rescued a point for the hosts. Eintracht's talisman Alex Meier (pictured center) was among the goals again. His 45th minute strike was the 14th of his last 16 league goals to have come at home.
Hernandez hat-trick mauls Mainz
Bayer Leverkusen's Mexican striker Javier Hernandez had struggled a little for form and fitness this season before he exploded in to life on Saturday. His perfect hat-trick (right foot, left foot, header) was completed in injury time and sealed a 3-2 win that saw Leverkusen shoot up the table after a sticky start.
Guwara sees red in Darmstadt defeat
Leon Guwara's sending off shortly before half time was the turning point in a dis-jointed battle between Darmstadt and Augsburg. Guwara's second booking left his side in the lurch and Augsburg's Alfred Finnbogason took advantage with the only goal of the game just after the break.
Dortmund get it done
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (far left) grabbed his fifth Bundesliga goal of the season as Borussia Dortmund beat newly-promoted Freiburg 3-1. It wasn't quite as simple as it looks, Raphael Guerreiro finally scored the third in injury time after Dortmund had come under some pressure.
