Here in Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats are wrapping up their party congress in Stuttgart. Ahead of the conference some in the party had been critical of Merkel and her approach to the financial crisis -- especially her insistence she wouldn't back tax cuts as a means of kick-starting the economy. But for now at least, the chancellor stood her ground.
