Chancellor Merkel's proposals to help solve Europe's debt crisis are also getting a cool reception at home. The opposition Social Democrats have threatened to abstain from a vote on Friday on the mulit-billion euro rescue package for the eurozone unless certain conditions are met. Merkel's center right coalition doesn't need SPD support for the bill to pass, but she was hoping for broader backing.
