Tourguide Eberhard Fischer takes guests through his hometown dressed in the historic Prussian uniform of a postal coachman. The homes of the 18th century tanners are picturesque. But Cottbus has a modern side, too. The glass building that houses the library of the Brandenburg Technical University – Cottbus is a state-of-the-art feature. Designed by star architects Jaques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron of Basel, Switzerland, it's a place students love to work and architecture fans must see.
