One of the three survivors of a Cuban plane crash died on Monday, raising the death toll to 111 people, the Cuban health ministry said.

Gretell Landrove Font, 23, died from extensive injuries sustained during the crash of a Boeing 737 near Havana on Friday.

The two other survivors, also women, remain in critical condition with severe burns and other trauma, the hospital director told state run media.

The 39-year-old aircraft was leased by Cuban flagship carrier Cubana from little-known Mexican company Damojh.

Mexico's civil aviation authority suspended the charter company's operations on Monday. The department said it was conducting an "extraordinary" review amid complaints about its maintenance practices and safety standards.

The fiery crash, which happened shortly after takeoff from Havana, was Cuba's deadliest air disaster in nearly 30 years.
