DW proudly presents Crime Fighters!
Ready, steady, go!
Everything under control: Sound engineer Götz Bürki monitors the actors during the recordings for the new series "Crime Fighters", four detective stories tackling the topics terrorist recruitment, poaching, land grabbing and counterfeit medicine.
Searching for the motive
In "The Radical Journey", Inspector Cletus (Elly Omukubi, left) and Cadet Inspector Jude (Nick Kwach, right) talk to Patricia (Damaris Matunda) to learn more about her friend Zorah who recently committed a suicide bombing in a shopping mall. What could have been her reasons?
No effort has been spared
Tash Mitambo (middle) plays the part of Bobo who wants to enter a terrorist group. In this scene of "The Radical Journey", he is in an Internet cafe to chat with his mentor. In order to imitate the sound of a cabin, there’s the board between him and the microphone.
Order in the house
These ladies and gentlemen represent a part of the government of the fictive country Kululaland. Here they are all smiles, but in "The Radical Journey", they fiercely debate about how to stop terrorists.
Campaigning for the wildlife
Dr. Susan Galana (Lydiah Gitachu, left) is a renowned wildlife protector in Bovu. In this scene of "On the Trail of the Poachers", she talks to students at university on how to protect the environment.
On the trail of...
...Fanuel Odera (left) and Andronico Otieno (right) who look like they’ve seen a ghost. Their boss in "On the Trail of the Poachers" is a certain Mr G - who actually is almost like a ghost since nobody knows his true identity...
Detectives at work
In "On the Trail of the Poachers", Detectives Carl (Melvin Alusa, left) and Allan (Gitura Kamau, right) are interrogating Dr. Susan Galana (Lydiah Gitachu). What can she tell them about the poaching business in Bovu?
A tough team
Juma Anderson alias detective Chokbank, Victoria Wakio alias detective Salamisha and Antony Ndung'u alias detective Kalumba (from left to right). In "Drugs to Cure, Drugs to Kill", they descend into the world of counterfeit drugs to find the murderer of Peter.
Small but powerful
In "Land of Chongwe", Mercy Chege (on the suitcase) represents private detective Mweri who digs for the truth about Chief Awombo’s death. Zumari (Tash Mitambo, left) and Pambo (Antony Ndung'u, right) are important witnesses. Inspector Mwamto (Gilbert Lukalia, middle) tries to stop her investigations first but then cooperates.
All's well that ends well
There is a lot of commotion in the "Land of Chongwe" when Chief Awombo is buried, but in the end, all turns out well. JD Chege (far left) plays the Interior Minister, Irene Kariuki (left) the President of Chongwe.
