Klopp returns
December 14, 2015FC Augsburg have been rewarded with a glamor tie in the Last 32 of the Europa League with Jürgen Klopp returning to Germany for the first time since his move to England.
Klopp's Liverpool side are ninth in the English Premier League after drawing 2-2 at home to West Brom on Sunday. But the Reds have turned on the style several times this season including a 5-1 win over Manchester City last month.
Before the draw, Augsburg sporting director Stefan Reuter said Manchester United was his dream opponent, but conceded the Merseyside club would be attractive to play against.
"For us, this is sensational," Reuter said after the draw was made.
"The anticipation is huge," said head coach Markus Weinzierl.
Champions League duel
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund is to face FC Porto who have won the competition twice. The Portuguese giants beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League last season and can be expected to give Thomas Tuchel's side their first serious test in the Europa League this season.
Schalke will need to defeat Shakhtar Donestk to extend their European ambitions beyond the round of 32, while Bayer Leverkusen are tol meet Sporting Club de Portugal, the current league-leaders in Portugal.
Elsewhere, holders Sevilla take on surprise package Molde, while Tottenham face Fiorentina and Galatasaray meet Lazio. The first leg takes place on Thursday February 16 while the second leg follows a week later.
