Tawi is lifeline for the citizens which supplies drinking water to the 75% population of the city. The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) continues to provide clean water in communities around the world, recognizing the role of clean drinkable water in maintaining and restoring healthy communities. International Water Day is an initiative that came out of a 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), and has since been celebrated every March 22nd.
