German airliner forced to land after bomb scare
December 7, 2015Condor, the operator of the flight, said it received an "unspecified threat" made via telephone, forcing it to divert the flight.
It said the plane, an Airbus A321 with 133 passengers and seven crew members onboard, landed safely shortly before noon local time in Budapest.
According to Hungarian police spokeswoman Viktoria Csiszer-Kovacs, no explosives were found in the search operation that was launched following the emergency landing.
The scare comes just over a month after a Russian airliner, also an Airbus A321, was downed over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, killing all 224 people on board.
A group affiliated with the so-called "Islamic State" claimed responsibility for the incident, saying they had smuggled a bomb onto the flight.
