As the No.1 host of international trade fairs, Germany is the place where most of the leading global trade fairs take place, according to the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).

But apart from drawing an increasing number of foreign visitors to the country, trade fairs also mean big business for Germany. AUMA figures show that they contribute about 23 billion euros ($31.4 billion) to the country's economy and secure around 250,000 jobs. Many fairs have also created spin-off events abroad.

From hunting to tires, from baking to wires, hundreds of trade fairs cover a wide spectrum of business fields each year. DW-WORLD.DE has compiled some of the major events.
