Vettel again
August 28, 2011Red Bull rider Sebastian Vettel stormed to victory on Sunday winning the Belgian Grand Prix. The German crossed the finishing line ahead of Australian team mate Mark Webber and McLaren's Jenson Button. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso came in fourth.
Fellow German Nico Rosberg finished sixth ahead of his Mercedes team mate and F1 veteran Michael Schumacher.
It was Vettel's seventh win of the season and with just seven races remaining, his grip on the 2011 title is getting ever tighter.
The defending champion is now 92 points of ahead of Mark Webber in the overall standings.
Webber is followed by Alonso, Button and Hamilton, all of whom might have had title aspirations but will now have a hard time catching up with the German.
Storming ahead
Lewis Hamilton crashed out in lap 13 when he was pitched into the barriers while attempting to pass Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi.
Hamilton lost control of his car and hit the wall nose first before crashing through an advertising board, ending his hopes of a late challenge on Vettel.
"What a race!" Vettel told his team over the race radio. The Red Bull driver had not won any of the previous three races and was visibly relieved to put an end to his losing streak.
