How old batteries could solve one big problem

Most of us are using them every day without ever thinking about it. Lithium-ion batteries power our laptops, phones, toothbrushes, vacuum cleaners – and increasingly also cars. But there's an even bigger job awaiting them: helping the world switch to wind and solar.
