A team of young German journalists are searching for an old painting that saved 25 Jewish lives during the Second World War. The picture was bartered shortly after Kristallnacht, that night in November 1938 when Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues were looted and burned by the Nazis. Some 70 years on, the reporters tell Michael Scaturro they want to fill in the gaps in the story.
