Three things you should/didn’t know about me
I spent the first years of my life in a small town in Bavaria, Germany
I used to hate it when people pointed out how tall I was. Now I don’t mind
I love singing and my absolute lack of talent doesn’t stop me
An African (dead or alive) I would love to interview
Miriam Makeba
In my home country, you should visit
The Ngorongoro Crater. There’s a reason it’s world-famous.
Favorite African proverb
Kupotea njia ndio kujua njia. Getting lost is getting to know the way
Book recommendation
If you’re one of the few people on the continent who haven’t read Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie then head to a book store NOW and get your copy. And if you’re looking for something non-African, the Harry Potter series is an all-time favorite of mine.
Can’t get enough of music by
Sauti Sol. Every song they release is a hit.
Favorite vacation spot in Africa:
Zanzibar
The 77 Percent means the following to me: The show has something for everyone because it offers the perfect mix of topics: From sex to start-ups, from trail blazers to trouble makers, from ideologies to ideas, from design to debates. The show is making me fall in love with my continent all over again. I learn so much about African countries I’ve never been to and I absolutely admire the energy and positive vibe that the young people in our reports bring across.
