No nerves for Löw

Joachim Löw has once again stated that he is not nervous about Germany's 2016 European Championships qualification campaign. Germany, who last beat Georgia 2-0 in Tbilisi, is now a point behind Poland and level with Scotland, second in Group D.

“I said before the game that we know our situation exactly. We had to win the game, we wanted the three points, we have the three points,” Löw told the DFB's website in an interview. Despite his satisfaction with the result, the 55-year old was however disappointed with another stale German performance.

“I liked our game in the first half. But in the second half we were not compelling enough. We can still work on our efficiency,” Löw was quoted as saying.

While results haven't come as expected, Löw remains focused on only his team. “We do not look at the other results. We are confident enough and have enough quality to finish first. We have no reason to be uneasy, on the contrary. I am very optimistic. The team knows what it takes.”

Germany's next qualifier is against Gibraltar, a game Löw expects to win. “In June we will win against Gibraltar, and we look forward to the crucial matches in September and October.”

Löw and the German team have come under criticism for their start in this qualifying stage, but Löw is keen to keep other teams guessing in Germany's bid to recreate the World Cup success.

"We want on one hand to have a clear game plan, but on the hand to be unpredictable. We want to create a spirit of optimism towards France, but before that, we have to qualify for the European championships. Everything else is secondary."
