Another win for Kaymer

German golfer Martin Kaymer won the Dutch Open by a comfortable four shots on Sunday in Hilversum, his first tournament back since winning the PGA Championship last month.

"I was ready to win again," said Kaymer, who had been off celebrating for three weeks after his triumph at Whistling Straits that established him as one of the world's top five golfers.

"I felt very strong and I was very patient," added Kaymer, who has now won three times in 2010 and seven times in his career.

Kaymer's ball striking was solid on Sunday and throughout the week. He led the field hitting over 80 percent in greens in regulation from Thursday to Sunday.

'Biggest confidence you can get'

Kaymer said his solid 14-under performance (67-67-66-66) at the Dutch Open was a sign of the confidence he gained after winning his first major.

"Well that was obviously one of the biggest tournaments we play all year, and, when you win one of those [Majors], then it gives you the biggest confidence you can get," he told reporters after the award ceremony on Sunday.

"Coming here [to Hilversum], knowing that I have a good chance to win the order of merit this year, it was my goal to play well. Obviously I was not expecting myself to win again, but it's nice to win so close to home."

Kaymer's father and brother rushed onto the final green on Sunday to congratulate the 25-year-old from the western German town of Mettmann on his victory.

At the beginning of 2010, Kaymer stated that his main goal for the season would be to qualify to represent Europe at the Ryder Cup next month in Wales.

Now, ranked fifth in the official World Golf Rankings behind only Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood, and Steve Stricker, those humble hopes seem greatly understated.
