Airstrikes and artillery fire by the Israeli military destroyed or damaged a number of Hamas government building, as well as schools and homes in the Gaza Strip. At least 155 people have been killed and some 250 wounded. In response - Arab foreign ministers say they'll meet within the next 48 hours to take a common position on the attacks. In Brussels - a spokesman for European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana has called for an immediate ceasefire. In Israel - one person has been reported killed by rocket fire from Gaza.
