The German government is planning to loosen restrictions on immigrant workers from Eastern and Central European countries that belong to the European Union. The changes, which could takes effect within the next six weeks, would apply to qualified mechanical and electrical engineers who are needed to meet the personnel needs of German companies. The proposal comes just days after an international study suggested that all isn't as it should be in Germany's education system.
