Spreading unrest poses a serious problem in Haiti as aid workers struggle to help survivors

Six days after the devasatating earthquake in Haiti, some individuals have been rescued alive from under the debris. But in the midst of desperate hunger and need, there have also been incidents of violence. The Security Council is due to approve extra UN troops and police for Haiti today and the US is sending in more marines. The commander of the US military operation in Haiti has stressed the humanitarian nature of the mission, but says security is a critical component.
