These young women are proof that Croatian fans can toss more than fireworks and flares. Note the red and white checkered look - very important for the "fiery" fans. The Croatian word for kiss, by the way, is "poljubac."

Many Albanian fans make the shape of the double-headed eagle emblazoned on the country's national flag with their hands. This fan proudly wears the emblem painted right on his face. The Albanian team may be an outsider at the tournament, but its fans deserve praise for their ingenuity.

Roosters - the Equipe Tricolore's heraldic animal of choice - are particularly popular with French fans. But it's anybody's guess why the fan on the left is wearing a Dalmatian costume.

This smiling Romanian fan truly loves his team. The finger heart gesture was a favorite among the Romanian supporters. It wasn't a lucky sign in the end, however, as Romania has already bowed out of the tournament.

Is my Belgian team really a favorite at the Euro 2016 tournament or not - this fan with the elaborate headdress seems to wonder. It's in the Belgian national colors, and looks suspiciously like the Belgian national delicacy: potato fries!

These two Spanish fans are dressed up like proud bullfighters. At an actual corrida, where the bullfighter needs grace, agility and coordination, these two wouldn't stand a chance. In the soccer stadium, they're an eye-catcher.

This Iceland fan looks like he just stepped off a dragon boat. About 30,000 supporters from Iceland came to their team's games in France. That's about eight percent of the island's entire population.

This Belgian fan couldn't care less that the "Asterix und Obelix" cartoons are a French invention. It's an impressive costume even in the Belgian national colors, rather than the big guy's signature blue and white-striped pants. Giving it all for the "Red Devils"!

Let's hope Belgium's Obelix never meets these two Italian legionaries. After wild boars, they're the big Gaul's favorite quarry. These two Fratelli d'Italia with the historic touch seem surprised at how well their team is doing.

...but on the shoulders of an Irish leprechaun, life isn't half bad. As always, Ireland's fans are top. The team might need some of that leprechaun magic, though.

This German fan sports a trendy, slightly upswept mustache in the German national colors. Thank goodness he's not wearing a spiked military helmet, too, to complete the cliche.

And while we're on the topic of cliches: these two Pippi Longstockings look-alikes, complete with the pet monkey, answer to the cliche of the pretty blond Swedish girl. Perhaps they sailed to France aboard the Hoptoad, her father's ship. Little Old Man, the horse, is probably tied up outside the stadium.
