"The BOBs": First-rate Blogs

Nowadays, blogs are an essential part of disseminating opinion. "The BOBs" - the Deutsche Welle Blog Awards - honor exceptional Internet projects.

Among this year's award winners is the Egyptian organization HarrassMap. It's developed a map documenting sexual harassment of women. The organization aims to draw more attention to the topic, which is a big taboo in Egypt. "The BOBs" will be officially awarded at the end of June. Further winners are from Iran, Mali, Syria and China - all countries where bloggers play an important role in the struggle for freedom of information.
