The EU is facing a huge dilemma with several countries having deficit problems

The European Commission is taking a more hands-on approach to budget issues in Greece. It has asked the country to give it regular progress reports on reducing its budget deficit. Greece's huge debt has hit banking stocks and government bonds in the Eurozone hard. At today's meeting in Brussels, EU leaders will try to assure financial markets that they have the crises firmly under control.
