Pope Benedict the 16th has said mass in the Jordanian Capital Amman. Tens of thousands of worshippers, including people from Lebanon, Syria and Iraq attended the mass. The Pontiff has stressed that he sees his visit to the Middle East as a pilgrimage. In his sermon, he called on Christians in the region to stay true to their roots and the mission of the church in the Holy Land. His week-long pilgrimage is being seen as highly important to the dwindling Christian communities in the Arab world.
