The UN Security Council has ended a session on the future of Kosovo without reaching agreement. In a joint statement - EU and US mediators said the potential for a negotiated solution is now exhausted. Ethnic Albanians in the province have been pushing for full independence from Serbia and want to move ahead unilaterally if no agreement is reached. Serbia, backed by Russia, had hoped the Security Council would require further negotiations. +++MAZ+++
