Four young men are facing terrorism charges in the Dusseldorf court today. All of them were determined to commit acts of terrorism in Germany. But after months of surveillance, police using US and German intelligence say they caught three of the suspects while mixing chemicals to make explosives 100 times the amount used in the 2005 London bombings. According to prosecutors, sites on their target list included the US airbase at Ramstein and civilian airports as well as nightclubs, bars and restaurants.
