WHO worried over increase in vector-borne diseases

One bite from a mosquito can have fatal consequences. Malaria, dengue fever and Lyme disease are just a few of the diseases that can all be contracted by insect bites. Experts call these diseases vector-born diseases. Every year, more than a billion people are infected with them, with figures on the rise due to global warming and increased global trade and travel.
