With Friday's other leaders faltering, England's James Morrison seized control at the BMW Open in Munich. He's currently 16 under at the European Tour's stop in Germany.

Morrison started off one shot back of Spain's Rafa Cabrera-Bello, but proved too consistent for the rest of the pack. The Englishman had six bogies on his way to a five-under par round of 67 at the user-friendly Eichenried Golf Club.

That put him at 16-under overall, two shots ahead of countrymen Chris Paisley, who carded a six-under 66 on Saturday.

Morrison could have held a larger lead but his chip for eagle got snagged in the grass at the eighteenth, and he bogied the hole. It was only the second time the two-time Europan Tour winners has carded bogey in three days of play - a testament to Morrison's consistency.

45-year-old Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand is three strokes back in third, and Sweden's Peter Hanson sits fourth, one shot further behind. Spain's Carlos del Moral is in joint fifth after the round of the day, a seven under 65 featuring eight birdies.

Friday's leader Cabrera-Bello suffered a nightmare back nine with three bogeys in four holes. That led to a two-over par 74, which dropped him to a share of eighth place. He's ten under, six shots behond Morrison.

Big names Retief Goosen and Henrik Stenson are one stroke further back and only have an outside chance at the BMW title.
