Inspired by her mother, a well-known journalist and poet in Afghanistan, Waslat began her career as a political journalist in Germany, her second home country, at an early age. However, the connection to Afghanistan was never broken. Today, she wants to mediate between the two countries, especially at a time when Afghanistan finds itself in the midst of an important and historic peace process. Her main topics are Afghanistan, Islam and diversity.
